The Kean University Historical Society in Union New Jersey was honored to have Karen visit our campus in May, 2008, and give a presentation to our members of both her life and struggles. It was an honor for our organization and a joy for all who attended.
She spoke of her work on equality for those with disabilities, and the ongoing struggle that the community still faces. Her speech was enlightening, and gave us a unique mix of information and emotion as well as a sense of reality to a subject that is very often overlooked.
Everyone in attendance was moved, and we can't wait for Karen to return to our campus. Thank you for presenting such a wonderful, informative program, and we wish you the best in all you continue to do.
